HSE Manager

We are searching for excellent candidates with strong leadership, planning, and motivation skills to ensure that all health, safety, and environmental requirements are implemented effectively across our projects. The candidate must be highly motivated and have proven experience in managing HSE systems within large-scale construction and industrial projects.

The ideal candidate should have prior experience working on large infrastructure projects in European countries, ensuring compliance with international HSE standards.

The ideal candidate should have prior experience working on large infrastructure projects in European countries, ensuring compliance with international HSE standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the company’s HSE policies, standards, and client requirements are consistently met.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor site-specific HSE plans, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and toolbox talks to verify compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
  • Lead incident investigations, prepare detailed reports, and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
  • Promote a strong HSE culture through training, awareness sessions, and workforce engagement.
  • Ensure proper orientation of employees regarding health, safety, environmental values, and corporate culture.
  • Identify potential hazards, reduce risks, and recommend improvements to site operations.
  • Liaise with project managers, contractors, and external authorities to ensure full legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor environmental performance, including waste management, emissions control, and sustainability practices.
  • Ensure all equipment is operated safely by adequately trained personnel.

Competencies and Skills Required:

  • Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and international best practices.
  • Proven track record of managing Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) issues in large projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of risk assessment methodologies, incident investigation, and hazard mitigation.
  • Familiarity with sustainable construction practices and environmental management systems (ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
  • Strong planning, auditing, and reporting skills.
  • Excellent communication and client management abilities.
  • Proficiency in computer-based HSE reporting tools.
  • Ability to train, mentor, and motivate diverse teams.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or Engineering.
  • NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or equivalent HSE certification.
  • Additional HSE training (ISO 45001, ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, First Aid, Fire Safety).
  • Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in HSE management within large construction or data center projects.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of Norwegian or Swedish is an advantage.
